Neil Rosini Discusses Parody at SDC

April 24, 2012

Neil J. Rosini

Discusses copyright, fair use and parody issues.

Neil Rosini spoke to an audience comprised of directors, choreographers and writers about copyright, fair use, and parody.  After giving a short introduction to this area of law, Neil covered in question and answer format such topics as: how much can be used in a parody from the original and whether parodies need to be funny in order to enjoy fair use protection.  The meeting, jointly sponsored by The Society of Directors and Choreographers and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, is one of a series to which theatrical professionals are invited to share their expertise.  The discussion is intended to be podcast at a future date as part of the American Theatre Wing’s web series, “SDCF’s Masters of the Stage.”
