Privacy & Publicity Rights

A play about someone's life, a film shot on location with passers-by in the background, a chance meeting of friends on a television reality show, a video game animating images of famous people, and a wide range of other entertainment productions depicting real people, both living and dead, all implicate the laws of privacy and publicity. Having represented both producers of entertainment works and advertising materials, as well as those depicted in them, we draw upon a wealth of experience in advising as to when consent is required and in what form, and in drafting and reviewing documentation .

Also in the area of privacy law, we advise our clients who collect consumer information via web sites about the law pertaining to that collection, the creation and posting of privacy policies, and the limits on use of collected information.
