FWRV Attorneys Again on Super Lawyers List

October 10, 2017

Each of twelve partners is recognized as Super Lawyer or Rising Star.

For a twelfth consecutive year since the list was first published, FWRV attorneys have been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.  The 2017 New York Metro edition lists partners Steven Beer, Richard Beyman, Elliot Brown, Eric Brown, Nick Gordon, Matthew Lefferts, Neil Rosini, Michael Rudell, Rose Schwartz, Daniel Wasser and Ken Weinrib in the Entertainment and Sports area of practice.  FWRV’s newest partner, Jake Levy, along with attorney Julie Angell, were selected as a New York Metro Rising Stars in the same category. John Vassallo, who is of counsel to the firm, is listed in the Family Law area of practice.

According to Super Lawyers, attorneys are selected in a four-step process beginning with nominations by their peers or by Super Lawyers’ attorney-led research staff.  They are then evaluated by independent researchers across “12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.”  In the third step, a peer evaluation known as the “blue ribbon review” narrows the list.  Final selection is based on “highest point totals” within four categories based on firm size.

Super Lawyers states that the “final published list represents no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state.”

The selection process of the Rising Stars is the same except “a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less [and] no more than 2.5 percent [of lawyers in a state] are named to the Rising Stars list.”
