Jake M. Levy

Jake’s practice encompasses television, motion picture, book publishing and theatre matters.  He represents producers, actors, writers and directors, as well as production companies of scripted and unscripted television, motion pictures and digital media programs.

Jake also counsels literary authors on book publishing, motion picture and television agreements and counsels fashion/lifestyle brands, media agencies and talent on endorsement and sponsorship matters.  He has represented individuals and entities in connection with Broadway and off-Broadway theatre productions and live events.

Prior to joining Franklin Weinrib, Jake was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett where he provided strategic counsel on transactional intellectual property and corporate law matters. 

Jake received his B.A., with Distinction in all Subjects, from Cornell University and his J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law.  At NYU, Jake was awarded the Larry Fleischer Memorial Foundation Prize for extraordinary achievement in the area of sports and entertainment law and was an Articles Editor of the NYU Journal of Law & Business.  Jake is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the New York State Bar Association Entertainment and Sports Law Section.
