Jonathan A. Lonner
Jonathan practices in all areas of entertainment law, with an emphasis on theater, television and motion picture law. He was included among an elite group of lawyers in "The Legal 500." This annual publication with international editions recommends attorneys based on the opinions of corporate counsel and law firm clients and described Jonathan as "excellent for theatre matters."
Jonathan has represented such Broadway, Off-Broadway and touring productions as "A Steady Rain," "The Producers," "Hairspray," "Legally Blonde," "Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me," "All Shook Up," "Little Women," "I Am My Own Wife," "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" and "Altar Boyz," as well as television series including "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" and "Celebrity Poker Showdown." Jonathan also represents authors of the Broadway musicals "Memphis," "American Idiot" and "Spamalot." He is the author of the article "2005: The Beginning of the End of Copyright Renewals," and lectures frequently, including most recently on behalf of the New York City Bar, the Dramatists Guild and the Commercial Theater Institute (CTI). Jonathan received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (cum laude) and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law (cum laude). He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1995 and to the California State Bar in 1997.
